Reading Comprehension

Companies that send employees on frequent business trips can save money by planning ahead. Booking flights at least three weeks in advance is often 20–30% cheaper than booking a week before departure. Choosing hotels near the client's office, rather than downtown, can also reduce transportation costs, even if the room rate is slightly higher. At Delta Trading Co., the travel department introduced a new rule last year: all trips over three days must include at least one weekend, since weekend flights are usually the least expensive. Since the rule began, the average cost per business trip has dropped by 18%, saving the company more than $40,000 annually.
